Trauma Recovery for Women

I specialize in Complex Trauma (C-PTSD) - when we experience several traumas over time, especially during important periods in childhood. Often, unhealthy relationship and behavior patterns are related to these experiences that have shaped us and are difficult to change on your own. Ultimately, the goal is for you to develop skills to manage your emotions and make healthier decisions in your life.

Many women identify with one or more of the ways attachment trauma has affected their relationship with self & others:

  • Motherhood & Maternal Mental Health
    • Emotionally preparing for & resolving trauma before pregnancy & motherhood
    • Adjusting to your new identity as a mother
    • Understanding your own & child’s attachment needs
    • Break intergenerational trauma patterns
  • Interpersonal Relationships
    • Codependence
    • Perfectionism
    • Lack of Assertiveness
  • Career/Professional Life
    • Imposter Syndrome
    • Type 'A' personality
    • High Achievers
    • ‘Strong Black Women’

Healing from trauma requires us to tell our story, which is a powerful tool in your healing. Developing a new narrative can help you develop an objective perspective on your experience, creating alternative perspectives & the ability to reflect on your experience, develop self-compassion, new feelings, and new ways of interacting with others and yourself.

Trauma is healed within relationships. Within the safety of the individual counseling relationship we will move through these proven phases of trauma recovery.
