At TLC, my approach to counseling is integrative, emphasizing challenging your negative thoughts, others, and your world while also incorporating family dynamics, your culture, and spirituality into the counseling experience.
My passion is helping women of color begin the healing process from past trauma and move toward wholeness and wellness. Trauma can be any event that has significantly affected your life either in the past or present day. Wholeness, means re-integrating the parts of yourself that have been affected by past traumatic experiences. It is difficult to be successful at most things unless we are whole.
Single session therapy is based on research that many clients report significant improvement after only one counseling session. These sessions are more ‘solution focused’, meaning that there is much less focus on the past and resolution of childhood or traumatic experiences, but a well defined problem, goal, & potential solutions.
I work with adults to achieve improved mental health and wellness. The connection between mind, body, spirit and wellness is a philosophy that guides my practice.
