At TLC, my approach to counseling is integrative of various approaches , emphasizing challenging your negative thoughts, others, and your worldview while also taking into consideration your family history, your culture, and spirituality into the counseling experience.
Trauma can be any event that has significantly affected your life either in the past or present day. Wholeness, means re-integrating the parts of yourself (mind, body, spirit, & soul) that have been affected by past traumatic experiences. It is difficult to be successful at most things unless we are whole.
Many clients report significant improvement after only one counseling session. These sessions are more ‘solution focused’, meaning that there is much less focus on the past and resolution of childhood or traumatic experiences, but a well defined problem, goal, & potential solutions.
The connection between mind, body, spirit and wellness is a philosophy that guides my practice. Through a holistic approach, I can work with you develop the therapeutic lifestyle changes (TLCs) to overcome a variety of mental health issues:
